Hi everyone, Lauren Ashley here with a special post for you.
It’s New York fashion week !!! Although we would all love to be able to attend the shows with Anna and the front row crew, the next best thing is the style.com slideshows that are uploaded almost immediately of every look from every show.
Every time I scroll through a show, I am reminded of how much designers pull inspiration and direction from vintage clothing and accessories.
Take for example this look from Tommy Hilfiger
This sporty ensemble draws inspiration from the bold, graphic elements of early sportswear of the 50’s and 60’s.
I love these pops of color and am always trying to find new ways to dress up more sporty pieces.
Take this 1950’s Red Letterman sweater for example. Pop this on over a slim, fitted white tee, some black cigarette pants, a pair of fun heels and you’ve got a great fall outfit.
Another one of my favorite shows was Tory Burch. Her preppy classics are always a nod to the beach attire of the early 60’s. How great is this silver and cream shift?!?
Our Silver Brocade Dress is the original version of this shift and perfect for a late summer evening out. You can even transition this dress to cooler months by adding a cropped black blazer.
Until my personal invitation comes in the mail from Anna herself to attend the shows, I will be forced to catch all the latest looks from my computer screen. But that doesn’t mean I can’t be inspired by this season and find my own unique pieces. Until then, if you need me, I’ll be binging on Paris, London and Milan fashion weeks from now until the end of September !
Don’t forget to scroll through the Jenny and Pearl Etsy shop for this seasons greatest looks for MUCH less.
