I have another great interview prepared for you today. I recently sat down and spoke with long-time family friend Shirley Cockwell.
I’ve known Shirley and her husband Irv, along with their daughters Patti and Lisa, for as long as I can remember. They attended the church that my dad pastored in Toronto when I was a child. They were also our neighbors at the camp where we spent our summers.
The picture here is how I remember Shirley and her girls. I won’t tell you how many years ago this is but let’s just say that Patti’s children are now considerably older than she is in this photograph!
I called Shirley and interviewed her by phone. She reflected on her early years as a mom and shared lessons she has learned from parenting a special needs child.
If you are a parent of a child with special needs, or know someone who is, I encourage you to listen and share this interview with others.
Thank you Shirley for taking the time to share with us from your heart!
I have several other amazing interviews in the works, with women, young and old who have amazing stories to share. Please leave your comments below and take the time to subscribe.
